lifter tick?

My Monte also has lifter tick when it first starts on cold days. The tick goes away pretty quick even when the engine has 150k miles on it. I agree that this is nothing to worry about. Start worrying when it is continous or really loud.

Seafoam is a good suggestion. Save a few bucks and buy a can of B12 instead. It does the same thing. Read the back of the can for instructions on using it in the crankcase. My 94's original 3100 started randomly ticking on cold start-ups. I used a can of that before an oil change, put on a better filter and a synthetic blend of oil (LIMGs were already replaced, so no worry about leaks), and the ticking never came back. Good luck!

I'm brain dead this morning. LIM???
I've been using ACDelco filters but noticed that last "ACDelco" air filter was orange. Can't remember off the top of my head but think the oil filter was blue.
