Default LFX engine swap

Hey, i was just wondering if anyone has tried an LFX engine swap...
It would be pretty straight forward swap, right? I mean it'd be w-body to w-body. I really have no experience with engines swaps and I love to hear what your opinions are. All thoughts welome, that's how you learn.

Anything LFX powered thats front wheel drive is on GM's epsilon platform, LFX engines all use 6 speed transmissions as well. I think you'd have a very hard time making this swap and would be better off going to an LS4 if you're looking for power, thats would probably be easier but still not easy.

Would you be able to pretty much take everything from under the hood Engine, transmission, motor mounts, axles, etc.) and swap it over?

In theory yes, i'm assuming it would fit, but the issue comes down to the computers. The pcm in your car isn't going to know what to do with that engine and especially a 6 speed transmission. In my opinion, if you do an engine swap, go to an LS4, you'll gain more power. Or save the headache and just buy a car with a different engine. The front wheel drive LFX engines only had around 305hp and 262 lb-ft torque

This was really more of a hypothetical idea anyhow. I really don't have the time or money to do something like that right now.
Of course, being told it's difficult makes me want to do it more Guess it's a good thing I'm going to school for mechanical engineering lol

How is that gonna help you? You're gonna sit behind a desk punching numbers for the rest of your life.

I was on that route (in school for mechanicl engineering) till I tried it and found out how lame my life is going to be lmfao, switched to architect/project engineering the next semester.

While I agree there are far better types of schooling for learning to do something like this (ie automotive mechanic tech school, etc), I think you're making an extreme generalization of what mechanical engineers do. It all depends on what career path you go down in the future. Sure there are some ME jobs that are purely desk jobs, but that certainly doesnt mean that every ME position out there is "lame". I certainly have enjoyed my professional career so far...
