Crankshaft pulley is pressed on so you need a puller. They can be rented from autozone or bought for fairly cheap

Yep, you need a crank pulley puller, look on ebay for 3800 crank pulley puller or something like that, I got one for ~$30

I believe it's a 15 mm, but I also think you need a 3x00 specific puller

So out of frustration I put the car back together, fired it up and wa-la! No CEL. I changed the knock sensor yesterday, after getting the knock sensor bank 1 code followed by the crank an camshaft sensors. Could the knock sensor have thrown the codes for the crank and camshaft also? I drove about 1/2 mile and still no CEL or no service engine soon indicator.

Keep in mind you need to do a full drive cycle to know whether the CEL will come back on or not. That usually equates to anywhere from 15-30 minutes of driving. The car needs to be driven long enough to go to closed loop mode before you'll know for sure.

I dunno man, if you disconnected the battery then your CEL isn't on because it hasn't failed

When my crank sensor went out I didn't even throw a code for it

I like how easy it makes it look to get that rear knock sensor out- I bet that thing is a nightmare between the exhaust, rear cradle, PS rack, and transmission in the way, lol.
