The way I could tell it helped in performance was in my gas milage. I gained 2.0 mpg with my K&N. It has paid for itself more than DOUBLE in the 68,000 miles it's had put on it. Do the numbers yourself!

I had done it to my 3400...

it took me about 35 or 40 minutes to do by myself with little/no knowlege of what I was doing. it very easy, just follow the directions.

Well to answer some questions here:

1. I had a 97 Monte Carlo Z34 and had the K&N Air Filter in it just fine

2. I have used the cleaning solution that comes with the filter, and I had bought a replacement recharge kit because I lived in a very dusty area and my filter got dirty a lot. It is worth doing the cleaning yourself, trust me. It isn't hard to do at all, just time consuming waiting for the filter to dry before reapplying the oil to it. I would do it in the morning that way I had all day for the filter to dry before applying the oil to it.

use the cleaner its like an aerosol spray to clean it then an oil you put on it afterwards... its like 10 or 15 bucks and your filter is pretty much new. they are designed to clean not throw away thats why they have a million mile warranty. dont buy a new one
