Its Finally Supercharged!!!

Hell yes haha it's unbelievable the difference. One of those new VW Golfs GTIs rolled up next to me last night, while I don't normally like street racing, he wouldn't leave me alone. So I decided to see how the monte would go against it. It sounded relatively stock but the second I punched it at a roll of about 30mph. The tires spun for a sec but once it hooked it TOOK OFF!!! Ended up leaving him by about 5 car lengths before he turned around and left If I could, I would definitely go with this kit again.
when I first took my monte for a ride the power it has was surprising enough to kick me back into my seat!(similar experience, went from a stock n/a series 1 3800 to the supercharged series 2) I've even kept up with a cobra in this thing. Both of us were going over a long bridge, and once I got next to him both of us just gunned it. I was pretty shocked.

I would recomend just getting a standard topswap kit or a full l67. $1000+ for the kit seems a lil steep when you can get a full low mile l67 for $300. And then you wouldnt have to source kit specific parts for future upgrades.

personally i prefer a full topswap as well, but this kit has fuel rails and if you plan to go further like say an intercooler... you already will have the rails. the only kit specific parts that might be an issue down the road are the pulleys. this kit cuts down the labor since the heads dont have to be removed.
a lot of people use the time to clean up and home port the heads when doing an actual topswap. I ported mine. i dont have a before and after but my car puts down a 13.9 on a stock pulley with porting and headers being the only mods.
soon i'll be installing a VS cam and am expecting to take more advantage of the porting with the extra flow.
Bottom line. the kit saves time and labor at the expense of more money. as with all mods you need to have a basic plan and know how far you want to go and then let that gauge if you need this kit, a topswap, or l67 engine swap

^ that's what this car is running. A 13.9 at 100mph. I'm also on a pepboys brand all seasonal tire so there's definitely room for improvement. Also the car was overheating recently and I decided to check the thermostat and the shop I had throw the kit on replaced it with a 195 and it was sticking. I replaced it with a 180 and now it's running cooler than ever!
