I would think you wouldn't want harder shifts with bigger wheels. These transmissions are fragile enough.

I was actually wanting to get a shift kit for my trans that I'm about to put in but changed my mind after reading that on ZZP's website....

"Our transmission shift kit improves the shifting of any*4T65e. It works on the standard*and HD versions of the transmission and can be installed in 2 hours.*Shift kits can increase the chance of hard part failure but they do*keep the clutches from slipping and burning. We do not recommend this kit for cars running 20" wheels"

But it's understandable lol my 20's are pretty heavy and I definitely don't want harder/firmer shifts with them. I'm looking for 17's again for my monte and then i'll get a shift kit afterwards

Snoop dog has one. Got 22s riding high, shift Kit no clutch, and his tips look like chrome bowties. But It wont work on our front wheel drive platform. 18s are max bro. Maybe you could if you did a performance build on our trans and fixed the fail points then I dont think the shift kit would be as risky but thats 2-3k for a trans to put a shift kit in because you want 20s. makes more sense to sell those and buy 18s.

I don't think snoop dogg would spend his millions on a monte carlo

I WOULD NOT run a shift kit with 20" rims. 20's are usually heavier which puts extra strain on the transmission. If you're looking to go the performance route on your Monte, ditch the 20's get some light weight 18's, max... Then you could go with the shift kit.

cool thanks for your input. was looking at getting a PCM form Intense but i notice that they have high shift points electronically controlled..thats probably not a good idea with 20s also..

Dont think they higher shift point would bother the trans with 20s vs 18s. And it was a joke, his lyrics from the ice cream paint job remix. Always makes me think of a 87 monte. Read the rest of that post what it says is true. Performance build the trans and maybe you can run 20s with a shift kit. But best/ cheaper route is ditch the 20s get nice 18s and then put in your shift kit.
