I HAVE A RADIATOR QUESTION

RE: I HAVE A RADIATOR QUESTION
you can try J.B. weld but you wont have your car for atleast a day to allow it to dry.
once dry start up the car and let it run to temp and presure and see if it will hold.
to help in this clean it real good after you get done cleaning it.
I would also clean and sand it a bit. to give it some bite in to the rad.
but i have actually repaird a engin with it. granted it was nothing more thent he head but it was done and it still works. it was on my air compressor.
So i know it will hold to heat and preseur just have to make sure you get a good seal on it.
Also while doing it you can take some guase or fiber glass mat to it to help make it even stronger.
After done then you can sand and paint it and most will never know it was done.

RE: I HAVE A RADIATOR QUESTION
no you can't buy that part seperatly, you have to buy the whole rad, the only thing you could try is plastic repair stuff from body shops, but thats just a temp fix....your going to need a new rad

RE: I HAVE A RADIATOR QUESTION
u can buy the side tanks where i live. im sure it will depend on models. they pry free from the aluminum core but its a chore.the curled over edge has to be bent out of the way for removal and re bent into place to secure the tank.not alot of fun there....includes newrubber gasket for sealing. some shops here willremove andinstallit for you.

RE: I HAVE A RADIATOR QUESTION
i used "quick steel" epoxi pretty much like jb weld and it worked for a small crack in the rad for a while but after the second time of it gailing i tried a dedicated plastic epoxi and it didnt hold up to the heat... i havea slow coolent leak now... got the spare rad ready to go in im just too lazy. not like the car is in danger to over heat... just need to add a little coolent every month or so....
