first off let me start saying you guys have a great forum and very knowledgeable people, ive read through the l67 swap threads and anything else i could find on the 3800 swap, well to make along story short ive got a '96 monte w/ a blown up 3100 ( just so you know ive worked on alot of the 3x00 motors but when it comes to specifics between vechicles thats where i need help) so heres the questions, i've found a compleate ' 98 3800 and trans i'm asuming trans is still the 4t60e but this motor has all the wiring, computer and accesories and its a good deal now my question is will the w-body motor mounts bolt onto this motor so i can bolt it in, i've also read of gettting z34 harness from a 98-99 monte to make the swap easier can the bonniville one be used with modification and how extensive would it be, i can get the wiring diagrams for both, and last for now at least the l67 swaps that ive seen have had the duel mounts to the core/rad support i dont see any on the bonniville and dont see where they would mount on the motor , and i forgot to mention earlier but the bonnie motor is a n/a motor no an l67 sorry for the long post but i kinda have to jump on this b4 it is gone, and again great forum you guys have here i definetly look forward to being a member, thanks in advance

Yes, although I'm not sure if you can use the ones from your 3100- I had a wbody donor car so it wasn't an issue. If nothing else, you could just grab some 3800 wbody ones out of a junkyard if you had to.

Not worth it- thats a huge pain for nothing. Even the wbody engine bay harnesses aren't a direct drop in. The only harness that is 99% plug and play is the 98/99 monte Z34 (and 3800 luminas). Tons of people used to use other wbody harnesses frankensteined into their factory harness back when people started doing L67 swaps, and people used to have all kinds of stupid issues. 3800 monte/lumina harnesses are out there, and make the thing so much simpler.

 

alright thanks, thats what i kinda figured now one more a good place to source out the harness? i've been looking for that for a while, oh and also do you happen to know if the bonniville computer will plug in?

i just thought about somthing i posted it earlier but not very clear now that i look at it, the bonnie motor mounts do not have the upper "dog bone" mounts like the 3100 and various other 3800's does someone know if this is just a mounting bracket i need off of the grand prix also i just thought about it while i was searching for wbody motor mounts and a z34 engine harnesss "98-99 of course" and also the 3800 luminas correct me if im wrong but othere than the police package did the luminas have a ltz pakage? thanks
