Default Which Harness Should I Use, L36 or L67?

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS with the 3.8 N/A. I blew a head so I decided to swap to the supercharged 3.8. I got the engine and trans out of a 2004 Monte Carlo SS. I got it in and all hooked up, when I turn the key you hear nothing.????

Thanks In Advance

well did you swap the PCM? also the key i think needs a relearn if you did swap the pcm. you could have used the l36 with a l67 pcm but would need an adapter for the map sensor. if you have the l67 harness might as well just use that one. i have never really payed much attention to key security as my 96 doesnt do any of that in the pcm.

The guy I got the engine and trans from also gave me the harness and pcm to it. The only issue I'm having besides the car not doing anything when I turn the key is the sensor plug for the radiator is not there.

Is there a procedure to get the key to relearn?

just use the l67 harness then and splice over your radiator connector to the l67 harness. you can cut and solder it or if you feel a bit brave trace it back to the pcm connector and remove the pin and swap in to the new harness.

As far as I know they are exactly the same.

If you are using an 04+ Monte/Impala L67 PCM, you don't need the connector for the coolant sensor on the radiator as they stopped using them in 2002 or 2003 and the L67 PCM won't pay attention to it anyway

You should be using the l67 harness as the circuits for the O2 sensors, injectors and transmission have different plugs/wiring from your 2001 L36 to the 2004 L67

Did you have your VIN programmed into the 2004 Monte PCM? Or did you swap the BCM from the 2004 Monte? If the VIN in the BCM and PCM don't match, it will never start

I didn't do either. How do i go about that? Is the bcm another part I was supposed to remove from the donor car? All I did was install the engine, trans, wiring harness, pcm, and axles from the 2004 Monte.

I'm running my 2000 harness, with an 04+ bin and PCM.
