I was hoping someone here knew a bit about this transmission. I just want to know if it will bolt up to a L36 motor and if it can handle the power of a L67.

 

It will bolt up to the L67. If you do not abuse it and just drive it regularly, it should hold the power just fine, but hard driving or racing will most likely lead to failure down the road. Remember, it was made to back an engine with 215 lb ft torque and the L67 has 280 stock. The major problem is that they do not make parts for the transmission anymore since getrag is out of business. If you were to break it, you would be pretty much screwed.

 

Alright, I like to hear that it will bolt up. Do you know if I can get it built up or are there totally no parts what so ever?

 

You wont be able to have it built up unless you know some place that can remake the parts for you. They sell no aftermarket parts for it and they no longer make OEM parts for it. If you are lucky you may find someone who has some parts for one lying around but the chances of that are next to nil. You are better off finding a F40 trans out of an 06 G6 gtp. Its a 6 speed and is supposed to be rated for 300lb ft torque. It should bolt up as well.

 

Alright I'll keep my eye out for one. Do you know who makes the F40? Also what frame is the G6 built on?
