Flowmasters or Real Cherry bomb ? please help!
Hi ya, i have an 2004 monte carlo and wanted to get new.mufflers . I want that loud sound that reminds me of my old v8. I am looking into buying either the, series 10 by flowmaster l and my other choice is the glass pipe by cherry bomb. Plan on removing the resonator and running straight pipes. Any advice would be helpfull! Thanks !

i have magnaflow mufflers on my car with the resonator still intact. k&n air intake and the tone of my exhaust is pretty deep. not overpoweringly loud either until you step into the accelerator.
you might want to try putting a high flow cat and maybe some flowmaster super 40's or magnaflow mufflers and a air intake on there and see if you like it that way. you can always put a smaller resenator in there if your exhaust tone isn't loud enough for yourself.

I've had terrible drone on every flowmaster I've owned. Even on the suburban, where the muffler and exhaust tips are as far away as you can get from the driver.
If you can afford them, I'd go with Borla. From my experience, they sound the best with the 3800s.

150 a piece (straight off their website for a center in/ center out) isn't stupid expensive for good sound IMHO. It's hard to find a muffler that sounds good with a 3800 (even harder for a lot of other V6s). Cheap usually either drones, sounds terrible at high RPM, or (in the case of Flowmasters) both.
To the OP, if you want cheap, stick with an OEM type muffler. If you want a GOOD sound, you're gonna have to spend a little bit. But it'll be worth it if that's what you're after. The extra $50 each is well worth it as far as I'm concerned, and I don't have that much disposable income to spend in stuff like that.
