Default Finally dynoed the monte

I finally put the monte on the dyno this weekend bone stock the car was running for a while because i could not get a steady tach signal on it must be some spark leak or something. Its an 06 3.9 i run premium fuel and I drive it like i own it. 60000 miles and it put down 199 wheel horse and 195 wheel torque. I dynoed it in second because third was shutting down at 5000 113 mph. Even with that i made more torque in third then second and hor was still climbing and capped at 190 at 5000. Second gear did 96 mph at redline 6400ish. Car flies on the road and now i see why. My dads northstar caddy only put down 202 horse so not to shabby. Im building a 68 dart right now so i doubt ill do many if any mods but if we pull the dyno out again im going to try and use efi live v2 programmer to see if i can pull some numbers out of this thing leaving everything else stock. If anyone else has dynoed a 3.9 let me know how these numbers stack up ill get a print out of the sheet and post it up here. These numbers are from our dynojet 248 inertia dyno.

Seems like a lot of places have trouble picking up tach on a lot of these modern gm V6's

That's pretty cool man. I've never seen anyone dyno a 3900 before. Keep us posted with what you're able to do with the beast.

hey great info mopowr. i was always curious to see what the 3.9s put out to the wheels. so if the 3.9L is rated at ~242 hp and you put down 199, that looks like an 18% driveline/parasitic load loss.

i think it would be safe to say the 3.5L rated at 211 hp, would have very similar driveline loss. therefore, would put down about 173hp stock. thanks again mopowr!
