If I could afford it I would go Borla all the way.

I replaced my factory mufflers with Flowmaster 40 series and it sounds great. Next step I plan to ditch the U bend (worth 8 HP) and replace the resonator with a racing muffler or glasspack.

I know nothing really about cars. All that I know is that I want to make mine better, expecially sound better. Therefore, I don't know exactly what to put on it. If you could give me the type of Borla exhaust that would work, that would be great.

i have found that with borla systems, you get good flow, but not a great deal of sound...what do you think about that T? ive not seen or heard the system on the MCs...just on some import V6s...like the 3000gt

 

I've heard one with the Borla system that sounded pretty nice. Much better and cleaner than my Flows insofar as it reduced the V6 drone sound.

I've also heard from a few Monte owners that like you did not think it sounded beefy enough. I'll bet ya any muffler shop could build you an identical system as a Borla system for 1/2 the cost.

I have never knowingly heard a Borla system on a V8.

Has anyone else heard a Borla system out there????

on something like a crustang, it sounds nice and loud, but on smaller cube engines, it didnt do much for sound...

 

I heard a guys Camaro exhaust a few years ago and he said it was made by Borla. Mine was a CVX exhaust system. They both sounded good. A lot more throat than a Flowmaster.
