Default Everyone's Favorite Oil

So everyone here loves their car so Im pretty sure you dish out a lil extra when its time for an oil change. Whats everyones favorite oil and oil filter and why? Ive tried Castrol (regular and syntec), quaker state, Q, Pennzoil Platnium, and a couple others. But I always go back to Syntec, seems to last longer although I dont like to keep it for too long, and the engine is just so much smoother. And as for oil filter I always go with whichever is the best one at walmart, lately the fram xtreme guard I believe.

Mobil 1 is about the only thing I have never used. I know its good cuz it seems everyone likes to compare their oil to it. Got a change comin up maybe ill try it.

I've been using the Royal Purple. I used Pennzoil a couple of times, seemed like it didn't take long for that stuff to turn black. The Royal Purple stays purple for a LONG time though! I change it about once a year, using a Mobil 1 filter.

Always wondered if all the hype that came with royal purple was worth it. Thanks

I've got an 01' with a 3.8 and I had used Syntec and a K&N since I bought it in 07'. I have, however, switched to Edge and a K&N recently and am enjoying it.

Mobil 1 oil, and a Good quality filter (Mobil 1, K&N, Fram Xtraguard, Etc.)

I used to use the AC Delco filters, but they recently changed the way they are made, and they are complete crap now. Open up a super-tech from Wal-mart, and compare it to the AC Delco. EXACT same filter, just painted two different colors. If you look in the hole, you will see the pleates are not evenly spaced, and the supports are all plastic now. The old AC Delco's were good. New one are not. The switch was made around September of this year. If you happen to find the old style, its just left over inventory.
