Engine Sounds Loud, and Squeeks
So my monte carlo has been running loud lately, sounds like it is revving real high when it isn't. I took it to the shop and they replaced the alternator (I don't know if the sound was related or not). It might be a little less quiet- it might just be the fact that I haven't driven it in a while so don't vividley remember what it sounded like. But I got it back and it still sounds fairly loud, and I noticed the strangest thing, the sound seems to die when I turn/veer right
, not left, not straight, just right. I have little car knowledge or experience and don't have a clue what this could be.
After I got it back from the mechanic I also have developed a squeek whenever I give it gas. Don't know if the alternator needs to be worn in or anything but it's driving me crazy.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
It is a 2003 Monte Carlo SS 3.8 with ~65,500 miles with a fresh alternator.

I took a friend from work out there and we think the alternator belt is too far over by an eigth of an inch and its rubbing on something making the squeek. So that problem is probably solved, though it doesn't help us on the running loud sound.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

I forgot I had posted for help here on this! I think what it ended up being was a bad wheel hub assembly or something. All I really remember is it sounded like it was revving high, the mechanic went for a quick spin in it with me and identified it as a bad alternator, they replaced the alternator (which was bad anyway) but that didn't stop the revving. They quickly figured out the hub assembly dangerously needed to be replaced. (Updated in case anyone is searching from similar issues or somethign).
