Default Compression test question

I did a compression test on my engine but I wanted to double check some thing. If I follow the exact steps and turn the engine over 4-5 times I only make 105 dry in each cylinder. But if I keep cranking about 3-4 more times then all the cylinders go to 150 instead. so am I only suppose to crank 4 times and thats the compression? or do I crank until the needle stops?

going with the 150 dry is ok... it puts you in a safe zone and also tells you all cylinders are around equal.
next you would add a shot of oil to each cylinder and rotate the engine prior to re-measuring each cylinder as you previously have done.

all cylinders should come up equally again and be within a certain percentage of each other and within a certain PSI range (this is different from engine to engine, I do not know your specs/engine/year)
if the pressure only comes up in some or all but one cyl then there is a leak in the upper cylinder (head gasket or valves for example)
if the pressure comes up equally in all and you are below expected range then most likely due for a valve job
