Default Changing Needle valve in thermostat housing.

So I was doing the dreaded LIM gaskets, and after while bleeding off the coolant through the thermostat need valve I ended up dropping the top plug for the needle valve after searching for about an hour I decided screw it and installed this. It's a little ugly but definitely made bleeding coolant through the housing so much easier. I'm surprised. No one's made an aftermarket needle valve replacement like this. Let me know how stupid you guys think this is lol.

I think the best phrase here is "if it works, it isnt stupid".

IMO no major company could ever sell something like that - legal would never let that fly. All it would take is one careless owner to bump that thing while working on something else / spray everything down with 200+ degree coolant and the lawyers would have a field day.

But for DIY use, Im sure it's nice and easy.

Yeah i could totally see that thats why I capped the one end ao it doesn't happen to me next time I'm in there, definitely made bleeding a breeze though for when the next time I have to drain the coolant for something stupid. I'm thinking il eventually upgrade to the nice "shiny" billet one from zzp eventually. But it would kinda be like put lipstick on a pig with my monte. Lol.
