car will not start.. Help!! plz
Hi everyone
I have a 2001 MOnte Carlo LS 3.4L
I have a problem with getting the car started. I turn the key and nothing happens. The music and the lights all wok fine. There was a very loud noise after i start the car that would last awhileprior to this.I had to turn the car of and then start it up again to get rid of it. This usualy happened durring the winter, when it was cold. Could it be the starter or ignition or is it something else. Im planing to take off thestarter and take it to auto sone to test it but i dont actualy know where it is or how to take it off. If someone could post a picture of its location that would be helpfull any other ideas would be great

sounds like it could be the bendix in the starter...makes a loud grinding noise..and sometimes it can get very loud...it usually means the starter is on its way out...
go get her checked out
go get her checked out
wiz kid do u know how many places i need to screw off to get the starter off because i looked and i couldt figure it out because its not theeasiest place to get to iwant to go and take it off sometime this afteroon
i'm not 100% sure , but i think there's like 2 bolts on it that hold it on...then a couple wires going into it as well...so disconnect the bolts off of it..then you can disconect the wires easily
yah, you probably should have sprayed some penetrating lube on the bolts first and let it sit for 30 min or so, so all the corosion could have came off...and those wires probably wont come off without having the starter down, and they're going to need the same stuff sprayed on them
