Default Canned tune

Hey guys!

I'm most likely going to be getting an SLP catback this weekend, and was thinking about what performance mods to do after that. I thought of a tune to change how she drives. The tunes I've heard of are the overkill tune, zzp tune, and the 3800 performance tune. I'd like a canned tune, unless I can get a fairly cheap custom tune done.

What I'd like out of it is a firmer shift mostly. All the rest of the things that come with it, such as the shift points, rev limit remover, governer remover, etc., are nice too

So my question is, what do you recommend?

Thanks!
Tyler

What things does he do? How much is the tuner? What's the process?

Sorry.. I'm new to the tuning scene.

Thanks!

The tuner is around $300.00 here is ONE site that has info on it..

Diablo Sport Predator Programmer for Diesel and Gas Ford Chevy and Dodge

Go to Lew's webpage that I provided to you in the previous post it desribes the whole process better than what I can here.

DiabLew Tune - Custom Diablosport Predator and Trinity Tunes by 06MonteSS

Lew adjusted my shift points, fuel injector arc, took away DOD, and removed the rev limiter. there are other thing too but they are more detailed on his site. Take some time to read his page he is detailed on his process. A great guy to work with. Many members here have his tune.

If a tuner is not availble for the 3800 like shoker thinks then the whole point is mute. The tuner is the tool that loads the modified chip program to the car's computer.

Yeah the Diablo doesn't work for us. None of those handheld tuners are great for the 3800.

Honestly though, I would wait to get your canned tune if you plan on doing some more modifications.

And you don't want to have the Rev Limiter removed. That is there to protect the engine from blowing up. The governor is okay to get rid of, but the rev limiter has to stay.

My recommendation is an Overkill tune from Will. ZZP are decent too.

About the rev limiter ....Ya I have to be carefull not to red line the car while in idle - I didn't notice it was gone untill I was showing a friend the difference in the car after the tune.

Can you ask Lew to put it back? Don't you get free retunes for a little while.

I probably could but the stock limiter setting was set way too low.
Normally I dont even get close to red lining it though, only when I am showing off and I am carefull not to redline it even then.
