Broken Dipstick!!! Please HELP
I stumbled across this forum last year and have read a lot of threads since. You guys have helped me out a bunch! Thanks for all the info you provide.
My problem is a broken dipstick end. It's just the tip and the broken piece is NOT in the engine thank God. I have another dipstick to replace it but have to change handles and trim to fit. It's a 2002 Monte LS. 3.4L V6. So my question is... Can anyone who has a 3.4 V6 please measure your oil dipstick? I need the exact measurement from bottom lip of handle to the top "FULL" mark.
I'd appreciate it very much.

HELP PLEASE . Need a measurement ASAP
I have a 2002 Monte Carlo LS. 3400 V6.
The tip of the oil dipstick got snapped off. I have another dipstick to replace it with but need the measurement so I can trim it to fit. I need the length from the handle to either the top full mark or just overall length. Could someone please measure your oil dipstick and post the measurement on here please?

The proper way to fix that would be to get an exact replacement 3.4 dipstick from a salvage yard or similar. The oil level is one of the most important measurements on the car, so it should be dead on...not worth guessing for such an inexpensive part.

I'm aware of the "Proper" way and if that were an option I would. The salvage yards in this area are picked clean and the part is on back order at the nearest dealer. I'm just trying to get by until I can get my hands on a new one. That's why I want the measurement so I can keep the oil level correct in the mean time.
As far as the two topics I figured maybe I posted original in the wrong section. I'm new to this whole forum thing and still learning ropes. I could still use that measurement if anyone is willing to pull your dipstick and a tape measure out.

Is the full mark still visible?
If so...Its a non issue!
Youll know when its below the full mark to add some oil to it...
That should suffice til you get the new one from the dealer!
