Default Best and cheapest mods

So I have a 2004 ss s/c dale jr. I love it but being greedy and having a old Kroc before it (totaled) I want more power. What are the best and cheapest mods I have a k&n air filter on it already. What else can I do? Please list as many as you can. Thanks.

Not trying to be rude here- but have you tried searching?

Asking what beginner mods someone can do to an L67 has most certainly been covered to death, and asking people to post as many as mods as we can- are you wanting someone just to copy and paste the list of mods sold by the major vendors?

Realistically though, you don't provide enough information anyways- 'cheap' is a very relative term- what is cheap to one person, will be expensive to another- so you'll need to quantify that a little better. Also, we need to know your goals with the car- what ultimate power level are you shooting for, etc. We don't want to list entry level mods- if your ultimate goal for the car would require replacing them later with something better (ie powerlog for headers, or rockers for a cam, etc).

Try doing some searching around first, and if you still have questions- feel free to post them up!

I have a 04 ss sc Monte as well wit only k&n filter as well. Although i did just buy AC Delco wiring and plugs that cost me a total of 100. And i ordered speed daddy headers from ebay for 217. Im putting the plugs and wiring in tomorrow mornin and although the headers were pretty cheap in price i have been asking around for labor cuz Idk how to install headers yet and they said about 130 an hour n could take up to 7 hrs! So i guess in some ways parts can be bought at reasonable prices specially if u consider 600 to be cheap. But are u installing everything urself or do u take it to a shop/mechanic? Im also new to modding so anything others wanna add or comment to this would be nice!

Did you read the sticky thread at the top of this section called: General mod plan for 3800s ( thanks Bumpin )? If not, I recommend that you check it out.

The next thing to do is ask is: what do you mean by 300hp? Do you mean 300hp at the crank or at the wheels? There's a big difference there. 300hp at the crank is very easy with an L67. All you would need is a set of headers, rockers, and a pulley drop (with a few more supporting mods). 300hp at the wheels would require a lot more, including an intercooler, ditching the rockers for a cam, and an even smaller pulley.

As far as your price range, keep an eye on www.clubgp.com's classifieds section. There are a lot of good deals going on over there.
