new to site love the rides on here really clean....restoring a 4.3 262 need body advice and any super charger tips....plan to complety restore this baby....want it to be a sleeper and a squealer...need repair tranny reverse drum mseems to be going out but will catch time to time just dropped $1800 on the motor and $175 on dual flows soooo any suggestions to add some speed to my girl a.k.a "Christine" "You know shes twenty years old!!......... that officially makes her an antique!"

rebuild the tranny but when you do it explain to them that your racing the car and it has some more pucnh then normal. they can build it to make it shift harder and faster. and also make it stronger.

 

is the 4.3 efi or 4bbl ? and what have you done to it sofar ?
you can get the heads ported get aluminum intake, headers ,upgrade the valve train and ignition system,high flow fuel delivery system as far as the trans like mickey said get it rebuilt somewere and tell them what you inten to do with it

 

one other thing that is cheap and easy to do but is worth the cost for the throttel response. is a throttel plate spacer. you dont need one that is 4" get something small like 1/2-1" and you will notice a diffrence in it and also will help the car to run a bit better as it will atomixe the fule better before it gets in to the intake. ALSO this is can be bought as part of the intake you chose . look for the rise height on it. some at high rise others are not . this is somethign most folks dont think of when buying a new intake man.


As far as a after market intake i would get that Air gap. they are a good intake . I belive Holley has come out with a version simular to it to if you like the holley's better.

the one thing that you have to make sure is when your getting a intake is make sure it has the mountings for the Eddel brok and the holley plates.
Cant tell you how many times i have had to ger a adapter plate to do this. they work find but it is another place for a gasket witch is also another place for a potenial leak in the system

 

right now i started a new job so what I'm doing right now is waiting on first check...money from my old job aint gonna be enough...but I also needs bodywork some kid hit me on the way to the moster jam in tx.....so went to the yard pulled light and fender....not badin the front but I have to pull rear fender skirt dents panel and cut off rear quater panel..got a crimp.
