Angry B&M MegaShifter Nightmare Install Help [Pics]

Hello,

I am currently working on my 1985 Monte Carlo SS installing a B&M Mega shifter. I currently have the shifter mounted on the 2 back original shifter mounts and the front I fabricated a plate to seat it level on the trans tunnel.

I have the shifter cable routed exactly how the instructions describe and look. It is hooked onto the transmission with the new gear selector lever included in the kit.

My first of three problems is:

Shifter Cable Running Kinked Into Shifter Linkage Hole

The included shifter cable is ran looped over the trans tunnel and through the trans tunnel to alongside the B&M shifter where it clips onto the shifter. The problem I am facing is that the cable turns steeply left then back right to go into the hole on the trans tunnel to run shifter cable to the transmission. Do I just drill a new hole that would be more parallel with where the shifter cable wants to line up? The original grommet is disformed from heat possibly? If it were possible to have the shifter cable all the way to the right of the hole it seems like it would work fine but they grommet is way too thick to allow this.

Two: Shifter Cable Twisted 90 Degrees:
The problem I have is the end plate with a hole in it to attach to the shifter, is turned 90 degrees. Instead of facing sideways towards the clip to hold it, it is facing upwards towards the roof. It requires a decent amount of tension to line up correctly to mount to shifter and it seems like it will want to kink bad. What is the fix for this? Remove the linkage underneath and turn the cable?

Three: Bar That Attaches To Original Shifter Cable Lever Does Not Fit New One:

My 1985 Monte Carlo SS has the bar that runs from the shifter cable gear lever selector to rotate the column shroud, operating a switch telling the computer whether the tranny is in gear or neutral that prevents the key from turning to lock position. The original gear lever selector had a bracket that attached to the bar and allowed it to turn with the selector. The new one included in the kit is just a flat piece, no extra bracket for the lever. How should I go about fixing this issue?

Since you're bringing this to the forum, am I correct that you already went to B&M for tech support?

Because the shifter isn't the same as the factory set-up you'll probably have to drill a new hole in the floor. Id also check with B &M and see if you need a different bracket that bolts to the gear selector on the transmission. By the appearance you probably need the bracket and might need to completely disconnect the factory set-up. That would also mean the backup light would need to be connected to the new shifter.
