Anyone have a bottle brush i could borrow/buy?

I'm trying to get my hands on a bottle brush hone. Looks like they're about $130. and right now money is really tight. i'm a post secondary student and moving really soon. i cracked a head gasket and im replacing it myself and would like to hone out the cylinders at the same time.

Does anyone on here have one i could borrow or where i could get one for a reasonable price?

Would this work? 4" Engine Cylinder Hone

Considering our bore is 3.8" I would say that is too large. But it says works on 2" to 7". I don't know though the design just screams piston surface damage to me though.

The brush is supposed to be larger than the bore. They are spring loaded. So yes a 4" home would work

The brush you buy is already larger than the specified diameter. Which is why you buy a bore brush that is for your bore width not larger.

If I were you I would go with this one. And it's not even close to $130 so it should fit the budget.

I think the hone is more for a total rebuild. i didn't even think of that.

Honing is a good idea anytime you mix coolant/oil in the case of a head gasket leak this can create a pretty ugly sludge that doesn't do well in lubricating moving parts. Which could result in some wall scoring. But I rarely have seen this. It's always good to have the tool and not need it, then need the tool and not have it.
