Default Anyone gone from auto to manual in their 6/7th gen monte?

This is something I've been wanting to do, had I the money for it. Has anyone done it, know much much it costs (parts + labor, or parts + DIY)? Or just thoughts on it in general?

no one that i know of on here had done it but a but i thonk you could use a getrag 282 or the stronget but rarer 284, which can be found in the older w-body's, you eould have to figure out shift linkage, shifter, pedals ect

Not on a Monte I am aware of but someone has done it on a Grand Prix on ClubGp. Its under the transmission section. It would be about the same they are both W-bodies.

Ive giveen it a thought, and looked into labor costs and parts, i mean the tranny's aint expensive...could be had around 800-1200, but you're talking lift hours, and tons of labor, plus cutting into your floor board, and customizing your center console...PITS, if you have the technical skill, the lift, and the time, go for it, i'd love to see a log of it center console would be a super easy mod though, just cut it out, and maybe a tad bit of bondo work, the peice it's self is pretty small and pops off with one screw...that's the upside, the downside...its work? lol

I don't know how to do it, the bigger problem is that I don't have the space nor tools to do it. However I know a few folks who might be up for doing it. If I can make it happen I'll most definitely do a log about it.

I've been wanting to do this also. If you do do it I will be reading your updates lol. Most say its rediculous and a waste of money but how awesome would that be
