i wouldnt put the 97 trans in, just my opinion.
the n/a 3800 trans, imho, have the better gear ratio 3.29. and you can always swap out the diff to make it an "hd" transmission just like the gtp trans. thats really the only difference between them. used gtp 4t65hd trans or the regular 4t65 run 200-500 on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market (depending on your location). |
I honestly don't know enough of the trans differences between years. Vikesfan sons like he's got a lot of experience in this market.
Btw - as for the vac line on the throttle body, you just have to finish drilling a hole gm already started and add a fitting. |
Check the trans it doesn't have the vaccum line but now idk I'm stuck I need a new trans asap an I have this one here i got for free any thought as what I should do remember it's a 97 gtp trans going into a 00 Monte Carlo Zzp said they can make it work what do I do??

get the correct transmission for your car.
if you want the HD trans, get a 1998+. you will need to have it tuned for this as well. |
I went the path of the trans for my car an I'll save an get one from Zzp
|
good choice.
are you looking for a performance build or something? if so, there are a few options for those, not just zzp. if your not adding a bunch of power, a stock replacement should be just fine. |
I have a built L67 an I just need a new trans right now for to get back on the road but do plan on building a trans
|
Only l36 97 gps had the 4t60. Gtps had 4t65s that will work with the later years. Two things of note, youll need 97-98 trans lines, and you may have to rewire for an external nss. 97-03 gp, 96-99 monte lumina, regal, intrigue all had external nss, 00-05 monte/impala had internal nss
