700r/28"tires/410 gears
Anyone running something close to this: 700r tranny with a around 355 cubic inches, 28" tires, and 410 posi gears.
If so what are your rpms like in town and highway i need to know, i am getting a 700r early fall. Now i have a turbo 350 with a shift kit and 2500 stall torque converter engine is beefed up a little i have a performance cam, headers, eldebrock aluminum intake, etc. YOU CAN IMAGINE MY RPMS NOW
would this be a good set-up. my purposes are daily driver but about 5 miles to and from each day plus highway driving very minimal, i just want to be able to go to my home town 90 miles away if i choose too or basically be able to cruise worry free with my low gears. ANY AND ALL INFO WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Next week i am getting a performance radiator/fan and 18" trans cooler to keep me cool in the meantime. thanks in advance

Here is the formula for figuring out rpms at speed and stuff
Rpm = mph x gear ratio x 336
Tire diameter
Mph = rpm x tire diameter
Gear ratio x 336
Gear ratio = rpm x tire diameter
Mph x 336
Tire diameter = mph x gear ratio x 336
Rpm
and a 700r I think has a 30% underdriven OD ...so your rpms will be 70% of your final speed.
Example MPH= 60mph x4.10 x 336 =82656
divided by tire diameter 28" =2952 rpms at 60
NOW! since your 700r is an OD..and 4th gear is .69..multiply 2952X .69 to get final rpm =2036RPM at 60 mph
Rpm = mph x gear ratio x 336
Tire diameter
Mph = rpm x tire diameter
Gear ratio x 336
Gear ratio = rpm x tire diameter

It doesnt matter about anything else..if you have a 28 inch tire, with a 4;10 rearend, at 60 mph, you should be turning a little over 2000 rpm, with a 700r..trans, taking into account that high gear in the 700r is an overdrive gear..NOT! 1-1...but approx .69-1 (if I remember right)
The 2500 stall converter will allow a bit more oomph on takeoff
Sounds like a nice engine setup..you should have no problems on the highway.. or around town..
All the formulas I gave you, are basic math...just plug in the KNOWN numbers, and you will get what you want
glad i could help, if you have any more probs, there are a LOT! of more experienced guys on here who may be able to explain it better..

And if you keep the turbo 350...your rpms will be 295o approx at 60 mph..kinda buzzy..lol..700r would be better, or swap to a set of 3;73s or 3;42s in the rearend,,with the 2500 stall, it would work better imo...rpms would drop at 60 mph..
