5 spd swap...?

RE: 5 spd swap...?
i have heard many people talk about doing it, but know one ever does... it is very difficult to find the specific trany you need and even more difficult to find the parts to beef up the trany to handle the power you would throw at it.
i wish you luck my friend please prove me wrong... but i doubt you will ever finish this project.

RE: 5 spd swap...?
there is a 5spd that i believe came in fieros that will bolt up with a little work... the hard thing is getting the axles, shifter, clutch master cylinder, pedel, and trany mounts into a car that was never ment for such things.
and once you get it in the car.... you would need to have the trany made strong enough to handle the power of a v6 or moded v6... cause that trany was designed for a small weak v6. there are a lot of issues to overcome...

either that....or i dont see why a 5spd from a V6 camaro or firebird wouldnt work out. it is made for the 3800.

I dont believe these trannies will work they are for a rear wheel drive vehicle. Not a front drive. Now unless you converted the whole thing to a rear drive vehicle
