I think that car looks choppy but I think everyone dreams about having a manual in their Monte every now and then.

I would love to have a 6 speed manual
in my Monte Carlo 3.9, like the Pontiac GXP's.
or a six speed HP auto with Paddle Shift
on the Steering Wheel : )
I miss shifing : ) & the control that I have
with a manual trans...., but I love
auto trans's in Bumper 2 Bumper - Stop & Go
Traffic.
The six speed in the GXP is reported sloppy : (

yeah the 5 spds deff give you more control, but for daily driving and drag racing an auto is better.... shifts faster and more consistant and repeatable!

only bad thing about doing a 5spd swap into these cars is building the trany to handle the power. for a 3100 its fine, but somehting like a high power 3.4L or 3800SC no way. it will end up costing a lot of money in custom parts and rebuilds to get it right.

deff nice that someone did the swap and all but i'll stick with a auto in my car.

That guy has too much time on his hands. Not to mention, he has probably made the car totally worthless.

I need to keep mine auto. My dog sits on the arm rest and if I hit the brakes to hard like lets say last weekend when I guy pulled off the shoulder of I-94 into 80MPH traffic right before the I-65 Interchange and didn't pay any attention to the traffic (jerk), well my dog only weighs 7lbs so he flies into the shifter and puts it into neutral.

I can't imagine what would happen to my transmission if she flew into that shifter.

nothing unless you're holding in the clutch... nohting more than what happens to your auto.
