Just curious how many 4th gen owners have a diesel equipped from the factory?

never knew that was an option on the montes. my dad had a 79 toronado that had a olds diesel in it. it blew up on him some time in the 80s and we converted it to a gas engine.

I have long wondered this myself, i've enver come across any diesel monte's I wonder how many were actually produced. The 350 diesel was availible on the 3rd and 4th gen montes. Honestly i wouldn't mind finding one. They were gutless but got good fuel eceonomy and it would be very different to have. But the 350 diesel isn't known for its durability and longevity so i wonder if any are around.

When my dad and I were looking for parts over half of the stores had never heard of a diesel option. I imagine that there are not not many still around because I have never seen another one in person. The V6 diesel option would be even more rare to find. As for the durability by 82, Oldsmobile used a different casting for the head which seemed to fix most of the catastrophic failures. One thing that I have been adding to the engine is sulfur, which helps clean the injectors and system.

I'm running on an older mac and photobucket is not allowing me to upload pictures. How many posts do I need to attach photos?
