5.3 oil leak
#11
haven't had any leaks (gulp) yet . . . the only time i've found puddle was on the power steering recall, and it was all taken care of within 2 days. I am however in the middle of a oil consumption test for the burning oil problem on the ls4. . . . hoping i fail lol

it has a bolt goin somewhere into the pan...not sure how far but my car isnt leaking from anywhere major so that is good. the pan gasket is good. just wondering about this black piece because that seems like where the oil is coming from, either that or i have a bad seal on my drainplug and it is blowing back when i drive which is completely possible

i don't think my oil is coming from up high. i don't have any oil higher than my oil pan and there isn't a leak on the pan gasket. so that's what makes me think the leak is on the bottom, either the sensor or oil plug

figured i would update this thread. when i had my car on the hoist to put my exhaust on i noticed a very small leak from the pan gasket and it is running straight down on the oil level sensor. (which is probably why it looked like the sensor was leaking) looks like the MC will be going to the dealer to get fixed up
