Alright guys looking into getting an 06 monte with the 3.9. I was wondering if anyone knew the max hp. and tq. the tranny and motor could take safely.

 

The 3.9 is not a very good mod engine. There is not very much out thee for HP unless you have tons of money to have it custom made. The only thing you can get is a Turbo Charger and you have to do your own tubing for that. You can get few more horses out of having your PCM reflash but nothing will be real to feel. What you got is pretty much it.

 

The 3.9 hasn't been out long enough for people to really start playing with it. You should see a fair bit of mods in the next year or 2 but they will still be slim. In about 5 years you should see a fair amount of mods available.
