3.5L turbo/super options?
I've looked on here and just about everywhere else and can't really find anything on the subject of turbo's/superchargers besides the STS universal kit... is there anyone out there that has turbo'd the 3.5/3.9?? I'm interested in upgrading from natural aspiration rather than getting the SS 5.3..
Anyways, if anyone has any info on what they've done, cost, etc... let me know.
*if anyone has managed to supercharge the 3.5/3.9, that input would also be greatly appreciated..

As Mike said, there is no kit for the 3.5L, so you could do it, it will just be all custom work, and very expensive at that.
Just to throw it out there, if your looking for a little more fun out of your 3.5L, but still want the fuel economy benefits of the 3.5L. Look at the canned tune PCM from :: Overkill Motorsports :: Will does great custom tunes. I have his canned tune on my 3.5L, with Dual Magnaflow exhaust and an Cold Air Inductions, CAI. Sounds great, and has much more pep than stock. Its by no means a turbo, but you can get a few more HP out of the engine and still achieve 30MPG on the HWY. I love the tune.
As for the 3.5L not being used in a lot of GM cars, I disagree, the 3.5L was intended to be GM's replacement for the 3800, and it pretty much was. They used the 3.5L is MANY GM models when it first came out, its only now that they are changing to DOHC engines that the 3.5L is falling out of favor (although its still being used). But for a good 4-5 year period, it was used in a lot of GM cars/ Vans. It pretty much covered all the applications that the 3400 and 3800 were covering. The problem is it wasn't around for decades, it only really had that strong 4-5 year run before GM started turning more towards DOHC engines.

WOT Tech has some stuff available for the 3500. Heads, UIMs, throttle bodies. I believe they can get cams for the 3500 as well. They also have header flanges that you can used to make turbo headers.

exactly, the 3400 and the 3500 are the same blocks just different intake manifolds, throttle bodies and i think exhaust manifolds, they're ported a little more, other than that its the same thing..

Yeah, I figured the worst part is going to be the custom fab of the piping.. and nahh, not really. I like my 3.5 and even though there are a lot of mods out for the 3.8, I don't really want to swap. Besides, there has to be a first for everything, right? haha

i never really looked under the hood of the 3500/3900 montes. i assume the exhaust is set up like the 5.3 with the crossover right there just begging for a turbo. if it is extremely similar cartuning makes a kit for the 5.3 im sure you can get a ton of info from exploded diagrams, picture, and what not of there piping to give you an idea of what would be required. i really dont think that this would be all that difficult of a project.
