3.5 and 3.9 Engines: What's the GOOD word?

A 5.3 and 3.8 have both been done. The 3.8 will be a direct bolt in and direct plug in (s/c or na), the 5.3 will take more customization to work, but can be done as well.
IMO, I'd go for a 3800 because the aftermarket is huge, the swap is stupid simple, and they can be had for $500 or less due to their huge numbers.
If you go 5.3, you'll have a more unique setup, but it will be significantly more expensive (slower for the same money), and a more difficult swap.
