Here dude. Ill kindly help you out. I posted this a while back.
https://montecarloforum.com/forum/sh...ht=3400...here
And just a heads up, you should probably refer to your engine as a 3400 instead of a 3.4. When people say 3.4, we usually think of the 1995-1999 (5th gen)
There is alot more that you can do to your engine than what is listed there. Ill be sure to post some stuff later tonight for you.

You've got to have some kind of budget limitations- obviously you don't plan to drop $10,000 into the thing.

Maybe it would be more helpful to us if you give us your horse power goal and we could tell you the most realistic way to get there.

The car has a speed limiter, and you'll need to be more specific about which V6 Mustang your friend drives that you want to beat :P

Here are the first three things you should start with. First, get a cold air intake (best to build a custom one. you can buy the piping from autozone or pepboys)
Next the best thing to do is get a higher flowing exhaust(either get a downpipe with a high flow cat, or if you dont have emmisions test in your area, you can get a off road downpipe http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...ts1.php?id=635 )
Second do the rest of your exhaust to get it flowing better (mufflers and possibly larger diameter exhaust piping)
And after that, it would be best to get your car tuned to get the most out of the 2 previous mods. That would be a PCM that is tuned for such mods. You can get it from alot of places, I got mine from milzy http://www.milzymotorsports.com/ )
I wouldnt buy anything else from milzy because he has kinda a bad rep.
But after those three things, its gonna start costing you some more money and youre gonna need some modding skills.
good luck with whatever you decide to do.

CAI - Yes
Downpipe - Yes

Cat-Back... not really necessary for power. That's more for sounds.

PCMs are always fun.

buy a tuned pcm from a vendor (about $100), or buy a pcm tuner and do it yourself (about $500 plus a laptop)
