2001 Monte Carlo SS 3.8L starts, dies, then starts fine
I searched and couldn't find any posts with exactly this problem so I apologize if this has been dealt with on the forum someplace else.
My 2001 Monte Carlo SS 3.8L V6 has a strange problem. Nearly every time I start it the car cranks over, runs for less than a second then dies right away. I start it again and then it's fine. This happens almost every time I start it, hot or cold. Crank, start, stall, start, runs fine.
There is no check engine light or code being thrown.
I have been having this problem for several months now and then my Ignition Control Module went bad (which resulted in the car running only on 4/6 cylinders). I changed the ICM which I had hoped would have solved this problem but it didn't. I also changed the EGR valve recently (for another issue) but it didn't resolve this either.
Any ideas?

How many miles on it?....
Could be a fuel pump issue.....(ck pressure at fuel rail)
fuel filter ... When was it last changed?
Id ck these things first....
Then it could be:
Could be idle control.. (they get dirty and the spring gets weak) try removeing it and givei it a good cleaning....(its electronically controlled)
hope this helps..
