Default 1996 3.4L DOHC with 125k for $300

Hi, I'm new to the forum here and was just looking at some options to upgrade my 96 LS. My current engine is the 3.1 with 165k and I thought it would be cheaper to switch out my engine to the 3.4 instead of looking for little performace upgrades like the CAI, etc.

Is this a good price for this motor and how much would it cost to have someone install it? Would I need any other upgrades to accommodate this engine or can I just drop it in and be good to go?

Thanks!

Don't swap in a 3.4 DOHC in your Monte. The price is good (depending on the mileage), but the engine isn't what you will want. If you get a 3400 v6 though, that would be worth it. It's a very easy plug and play swap. Or if you want real performance look for an L67. It's going to cost a LOT to have someone do the swap for you, if you can find a shop willing to do it.
