1986 Monte Carlo Luxury Sport CL

I have an 86 Monte Luxury Sport CL and I looking to find out what type of engine is the 5.0L. A 305 or 350?

A 5.0 is a 305. A 350 is a 5.7.

The 4th gen Montes (which is what you have) NEVER came with a 350 from the factory. It's too bad too because 305's are dogs.

True but false
american montes never came with either a 350 or a manual but they did produce a mexican version with a 350 and t5 manual

your car has a 305(5.0) unless some one put in a diff engine
