Default 1:90 Rocker arms

I am strongly considering adding a supercharger to my stock 3800. I have been reading about the high ratio rocker arms and other mods to go with the SC. If I do this mod one step at a time and go ahead and add the 1:90 rocker arms, how much will I hurt my feul mileage now?

I'm thinking that you'll end up hurting fuel mileage a bit with the 1.9 rockers, but not the way that you might be expecting. With the noticeable gain, you'll probably want to put your foot down a bit more then usual. However, if you're able to stay away from the gas peddle, I don't think you'll lose much really. 3800's that have rockers typically keep a decent low end when compared to someone who installs a cam in one.

If you don't want to go with a cam, then I say go for it. If you think you might want a cam after the supercharger, then at least hold onto the stock rockers. That way you can always swap back later if you change your mind. Plus, installing rockers is really easy.

you dont need the 1.9's to do a top swap, not required, but if you have the funds, then i would say do it.

i am currently running a stock top swap. 2008 bottom end, 1999 top end, stock springs, stock rockers, stock pully, stock heads, stock everything. the only thing i added was a tune and a huge cone filter.

it has plenty of get up and go.

if i had to do it all over again, i would have went Gen V for the s/c and lower intake and heads. dont wast your time on the Gen III s/c stuff.
