05 sc monte ss. looking for upgrades
i have an 05 monte ss supercharged with a k&n intake, and it made a noticeable difference. im looking to do further upgrades but i dont want to skip over anything. im in no huge rush and id eventualy like to get down to a 3.0 or smaller pulley. but for the time being i was curious if anyone had any noticeable gains in performance or feel from any other mods. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. thanks

First thing is first, you have boost and you want to do upgrades. Get a scanner / tuner FIRST. You have to monitor your KR for every little thing you do.
U-bend delete + high-flow cat
180° thermostat
104 plugs
HV3 insert
1.9 modded rockers
-then-
smaller pulley
TUNE
Use the search feature for any of those terms if you need further explaining.
Also check ZZPerformance.com (under grand prix -same engine)
or 3800performance.com

I think this thread is the one that bumpin96monte is referring to....
This thread outlines and discusses most of the available and worthwhile modifications for the 3800 engine. Suggested reading for anyone looking for mod ideas.

The 160 T-stat will work, but it may set the check engine light and will reduce your gas mileage. You don't really need to run a t-stat that cold on these cars even with a pretty extreme build.
A 180* would be a better bet. It definitely will not set the check engine light and will yield better gas mileage than the 160*. A new t-stat is only like 5 or 6 bucks, so I don't imagine it's a big deal to go grab a 180* one.
Either way, any thermostat colder than stock isn't going to help much at all unless you have the fan turn-on points set to work with that thermostat.
