'04 SS Intimidator w/ supercharger
First off let me say that ZZP Performance is amazing. ESPECIALLY in regards to the 3800 motor. Another great place(for quality performance mods, at a sensible price) is CHIP YOUR CAR PERFORMANCE.COM They make an OBD2 performance chip that really sets things off. I went with the stage 2 (which advertised it would add at least 60hp&8mpg. For $239.99 with LIFETIME warranty. Warranty meaning if I change anything on the car like add more upgrades, I can send it back to them they'll reprogram it however I want and theyll send it back. Believe me I asked) and it more then delivers! In a basically stock 3.4L LS except for a cold air intake I pieced together from pieces found at AutoZone, O'Reilly's, and Advanced, a back yard cat back exhaust, and an A/C bypass pulley. I can lay down a 7.5 sec 1/4 mile 0-60 in 5-7secs (depending on weather I'm shifting it myself, or letting the automatic trans do it's thing). Best part is, I can plug it into another Monte Carlo and the tune will work on it, at least while it's plugged in.
Because I couldn't find all the pieces I needed to route it how I wanted at 1 store. Other guy is right, I did kinda sound like an advertisement, I only mentioned it because it was extremely cheap for the results it produces, and when youre raising a child with Autism, money is BEYOND tight at times so getting anything I could to get better gas mileage was key.
A one off professional tune on these to get the pcm 100% dialed in is worth at most 10 wheel, dyno proven (so let's call it 15 crank with drivetrain loss). Getting 4x that from something plugged into the obd port is just impossible.
I presume the 1/4 mile results were a typo as mid 7s in a full weight street car takes probably 1500 horsepower. In fact, it would be the record setting pass for a v6 w body if true.

Thanks for the info. I did buy the car and will be picking it up tomorrow morning (Saturday). Pretty excited about it. Traded in my old faithful 1993 chevy truck 4x4 for it... and Dale Sr was my hero for racing so..... dream car for me :-)
We bought a 2004 LS red MC for a couple of years ago and decked it out with graphics and all so we'll now have two of them in the driveway.
I built my own FWI for it and intend on doing the same with the Intimidator. Next will be putting on new performance rotors like we did for the LS.
Time for me to do more research on mods for this baby but, even though it will be a daily driver, we're going to try to keep the collector factor with it as long as we can. I'll keep checking around this site for info and thanks again for the welcome too.
