I have to replace my lim gasket. figured while im there it may be good to put in a mms ported and polished upper intake manifold, lower intake manifold, throttle body and a intake kit. i have no other mods and really want to keep the stock exhaust (aftermarket would be to loud for my kids).
Is it worth it and do you think the pcm will need to be reprogrammed?
thanks

I don't know a whole lot about the gains of a port/polished UIM/LIM and a larger TB on the 3400 (there may be a few members here that can give input, but the N-Body community may be best suited to answer that). I'm pretty sure a tune is not required for those mods BUT would definately help to get more out of them.
Since you want more performance, I think you'd be better off doing:
- CAI
- Resonator Delete
- L67 Coils (don't spend more then $30 shipped for them, but they can add a little pep to the 3100/3400/3800 N/A)
Tune not required for those mods I suggested (but again, could help, but NOT required).
BTW - When doing the LIM, get the Felpro Aluminum gaskets.
I'm running a '94 Grand Am with a 3100 (same basic engine as the 3400), I have a drop in K&N air filter, L67 coils and a stainless steel stock spec exhaust (no res). Seems pretty good.
My wife has a '05 Impala with the 3400, I just added L67 coils and she noticed some more getty-up on the freeway when she went to pass someone.

I used to work for STERIS (in Heisley Rd) back in '97-'99. Mentor has grown quite a bit.

I decided to go with new l67 coils due to low miles on the car- they are ordered, i have my wizaired next to me in a box. 65mm throttlebody coming in the mail. I may just pull some lower and upper intakes from a pick and pull and gasket match them myself and save 380 bucks....
+++++++++Heres to hoping that i wont need a pcm reflash +++++++++++
