I have a 2002 Monte Carlo LS 3.4L. I have a low budget but would like some extra power. How much am I looking at to put in a super charger, or a turbo?

 

Well, IF there is a supercharger for a 3400 you'd be looking at $500-$1,000. I am not sure if there is a turbo set up either, but you'd be looking at $500-$3500. There really isn't much customization you can do to a 3400 other than a cold air intake, exhaust set up.

 

danetrain... Ive been looking for a while and really unless you can score a RSM kit (of the 20 or so made total) your going to need to custom make one. Im in the same boat....

 

Honestly, if you're on a 'low budget' you can rule out any chance of doing a supercharger or turbocharger. I would probably reccomend taking that money and putting it in the bank, and wait until you get more money saved up before you start trying to get into bigger projects.

The bad thing is that hardcore modding is a snowball effect- say you get a turbo kit (or s/c)- you'll probably need new fuel injectors to handle the extra power. Then you'll need better tires to get traction, then your trans will break and you'll need to upgrade it- its a big snowball thing once you start looking into significantly upping power, then you'll snap an axle etc etc- all the weak spots start popping up real fast.

Unless you have ability to do custom fabrication yourself- figurea minimum of $3000 either way.
