Default 3.8L questions

My Wife's 2003 Monte SS is having some issues. It has 66M miles and has been pampered. It severely is lacking in power and at 4000 rpms it acts like it is against the rev limiter. It starts missing and will not spin any faster. What's everybody's best guess?????

It was the catalytic converter. $747 for the part + 94 labor to install. Replacing the left rear hub bearing to get rid of the abs light that has been on for years. Damn, expensive to drive these things anymore.

That's a shame, it could be done for so much cheaper if you went aftermarket.

They told me the aftermarket piece would cause engine codes. I went with the oem and probably got greased.

Anyway you can get a refund and just get this cat instead: ZZ Performance

That cat won't throw codes, and ZZP ships out the same day (I usually get parts from ZZP the day after I order them). $60 is a lot better then $747. That shop hosed you sadly.

Thanks for the tip Zipper. If my cat ever goes bad in my 03 this sounds like a good replacement. I don't want to put a down pipe on the 03 cause I don't want to reflash my pcm.
