Ok, my 2004 Monte Carlo LS speedometer has been failing after the car warms up.
Took it to the dealer for exam. They have ordered a new cluster, (back ordered 30 days)
and will install when the part comes in. The car has 26,500 miles and the new cluster is being
updated with the correct mileage.

 

I have a 2004 LS as well so is this like a recall problem that happens often or was it just a freak type of thing with you cause i have yet to see mine do that and i am going on 50,000

 

Our 04 SS speedo finally completely crapped out. First trip to the dealer he couldn't find anything wrong and it wasn't acting up. We persisted, and found that it was temperature related (dash lights), so I turned the lights on 1/2 hour before going for a ride prior to taking the car in. The speedo was stuck on 18 mph in their shop, a replacement was in two days later (under warranty).
