UPDATE!!! Sueded Headliner and SLP Grille finished! :D (many pics)
Let me start off by thanking Enzo for the tips and time he provided to answer my questions
So i finally finished up the monte today. Got the headliner all done and installed 2 days ago, also did some painting for my slp grille install. Decided to paint the surround on the grille to match my car and aslo painted the bottom grille black to resemble the one that SLP makes, turned out pretty good Also resprayed the plate filler with the correct white this time :p, ehh looks a tiny bit off still but better than it was before  Decided to debadge the monte too, hmmm what else...... Anyways here's the pics.. lol Enjoy all of the headliner, visors and slider were done by yours truly ;) Let me know how she looks (monte) She's naked!! lol http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/ad51a966.jpg Came out pretty easy http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/1ff1747b.jpg Here's my visors taken apart, i must say these are fairly easy to take apart, i experimented with the GP ones i had first so i knew what i was doing after that http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/ff4295cc.jpg Sunroof Slider with plastic vent off http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/167c897d.jpg Measuring and trimming how much will be needed :) http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/3bd768bd.jpg Decided to go with Flat black on all the trim pieces  http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/6125fe7a.jpg AHHHHH So sweet!!! :D http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/364f2a30.jpg Finished the slider! :) http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/7569f0a3.jpg I screw it back on with tiny screws and washers :p http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/a152de2b.jpg |
Now picture time for my Grille, Filler plate and debadging!!!
Got the emblem off :p http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/999fcb62.jpg Grille painted and SS emblem on http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/db731ea4.jpg Nothin like my good ol' masking! :p http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/0b94c47a.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/f509e3b8.jpg Yuck! looking real nasty without the grille and filler plate :rotfl: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/74924e9a.jpg ehh looks decent :p http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/42a13243.jpg Now here's pics of everything finished up, filler plate repainted, grille installed and no emblems  http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/ba217380.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/061d3108.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/74061c05.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/6fea8c66.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/84028675.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/4225986f.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...1/69ddf0d7.jpg |

I'm impressed. . . .looks like you dis a grade A job on everything. I really wanna make my headliner black but i don't think i'd like the suede. It looks great but once someone puts a finger on it it'll show and look weird until i smooth it all back out. either way GREAT job.

But that gives you the perfect excuse for another alteration - install window tint, right? ;)
It's only 25% in the back Plus I don't think the fabric would adhere on the carpet material very well. It probably could be peeled off but the speaker deck seems very fragile lol

That will make 3 montes that I know of with suede headliners ;) lol |
Wow... you really did a knock-out job Frank! This will likely inspire many more member to try this.
Thanks for photographing and sharing. Not enough credit can be given to our members who do these photo editorials. In my many projects I've tried multiple times to "photo the whole thing" only to give up on photoing half way through cause I'm too greasy or just to into trying to finish what I'm doing and don't want to take the time out to capture the step |
