Default Taking out that stock

So i got my monte on friday...I found another 2001 one that i wanted, with the leather and heated seats...also with a sun roof. Looking to toss a system in it but some one said i would loose my bells and whistles. is this true? and what can i do to keep those. I have onstar but i dont plan on using it. I also want to get in wired for Subs what do most of you guys recamend?

Welcome to the site!

As for the "bells and whistles" you will lose them if you dont use an adapter for the aftermarket radio. Which deck are you looking at putting in? We can show you what you will need if you can let us know what your wanting to drop in! ;-)

The wiring for the sub will be a piece of cake if you can get to your cars firewall to push the wire through it. You need to run a 0/1 or 4 gauge wire from your battery to where you want to put you amp(s). Might I recommend using 4 gauge if your going to use 1 amp (cheaper wire) and use 0 or 1 gauge if you plan on running multiple amps to power your subs. Any idea on what amp/sub setup your going to try to get?

There is a wiring harness you have to buy to keep some of the bonues. Costs about $100 +/- $20 depending where you get it.
