Default SpaceRider or other Pros

My wife, kids, neighbors, and co-workers all think I'm nuts because of the amount of time I put in keeping the water, dirt, and dust off my car. Like in the morning when the dew is on the car, I go out and spray some Meguiar's Quik Detailer on it and then towel it dry.

Here is my question:
Let's say I'm at work. Just from normal traffic, I get a layer of dust on my car, then it doesn't rain, but it sprinkles -- a drizzle. Now that dust collects in pool -- droplets -- on my beautifully waxed "BLACK" painted car. I can not have the porters wash my car, NOR would I let them in the first place. I carry in my trunk everything a detailer would want. I have a claybar, Scratch X, Wax Cleaner, Liquid Gold, Paste Gold, NXT Generation Tech wax, and the Quick Detailer, plus... I also have multiple pure 100% terry cloth towels and applicators. Ok, so I have the equipment to tackle any task, but without thoroughly washing my car, is there anyway to tackle those droplets of dirt? I go crazy now, thinking that water and dirt is etching into my wax and I'm going to have to wash, claybar, scratch X, clean, wax, glaze, seal all over again (2-day project). .... and I already have done this three times in the past month.... People tell me I'm going to rub the paint off the car...

I have owned several black or other dark colored cars, and I found that a sponge bath with clear water,a clean sponge, and a quality chamois works real well.I often do this to my car to "freshen it up" without dragging out the hose, car wash soaps, etc.Do one section at a time, starting with half of the roof.Sponge the area with the sponge kind of wrung out,not soaking wet. Then follow with the damp chamois.Rinse the sponge and chamois thoroughly and wring out before doing the next section.Do all the top surfaces, then the sides, and the wheels and lower body last, since they are usually dirtiest. We used to do the cars in the showroom at the dealership I worked at this way.

Mr Clean AutoDry Car Wash Review
Guide Rating -
The Bottom Line
I have to admit, I was skeptical about the ability of the Mr Clean AutoDry to have enough power to wash and rinse a car, and allow it to dry spot and streak free. It passed the test though, and was simple enough to use, that I would actually rather use it, than drive to a car wash. My kids could even use it, and actually help. The Mr Clean AutoDry made our van look wonderful with less work and more fun. Ease, convenience, and results give Mr. Clean AutoDry an A++.

This is why Mequiar's invented and sell their Quik Detailer. It's designed to use between washes.

The dirt shouldnt etch the finish. It's the much harder mineral deposits left by hard water drying on your car (from the neighbors sprinkler, etc). Quick detailer like everyone is saying and a real good microfiber cloth should do just a dandy job. Just be careful to use onem/f clothto clean off the dirt (maybe two, since they'll get dirty quickly, and you wont want to use a heavily spoiled spot) then one to finish off to leave a nice finish.
