Default June developments...

So today I had my oil changed on my 3 month appointment and, as long as it was there, I had them install a few things...

(pictures are from my [1.3 mp] cell phone as I couldn't find my camera earlier... I will get [5.0 mp] pics up later)

windshield badge: (also, see my IHRA Inspection sticker? ya-ya!)

third brake light overlay and dealer sticker removed:

dealer sticker close-up:

third brake light overlay close-up:

... again, I will take more [better quality] pictures with my camera later (but these aren't bad for a cell phone!)AND get one with the overlay lit but I had to rush to work shortly after finding my camera! 25 dollars installed them all! (also, I had an o2 dummy installed in May so that I am no longer throwing a P0420 code! $25 fix! )

thnx! i'm glad i got them done!

now, as promised, more pics... (my digital camera died part of the way through so the last fourare, again, from my cell phone)

the only problem is the third light seems to be too bright when applying the brakes and it's never on other than that... maybe there are dimmer bulbs?

I'll have to look the next time I go to my car, but I think the third brake light is LED's isn't it?

If it is, putting a larger value resistor in series with the LED's will make them dimmer.

it very well could be... that's a good question! i would go check but my Monte is about a 15 minute walk from here! (parked in a parking ramp b/c of the threat of hail this week) let me know what you find out when you check!

k, so how would I go about putting a larger resistor in there (and what size does it have/should I use?)?

Why do you want to dim it. I was thinking that Bright would be the way to go ... less chance of having somebody get parked on top of your sub woofers.

my tails are bright enough that if somebody can't see those when I brake they shouldn't be on the road (b/c they are obviously BLIND!) ...

no, with how bright it is, only semi drivers can see what it says (high and low angles are legible BUT straight back? well, look at the last picture! anyone in a car will only see a brake light!) maybe once I nightshade my tails I may take the resistor out OR get brighter tail bulbs b/c, even though I have no subs as of yet, I don't want ppl rear-ending me! if only I could make that third light stay on ata low setting all the time and have them brighten when braking (like the tails at night)... but that may not be possible? if so, only with a tuner (like turning the fog lights to "always on")?
