Hello everybody! This is my second post, so I'm a newbie...be gentle! I just aquired a 2006 SS, black, all stock, very low mileage. This is my 5th Monte Carlo. I've had a '70/350, a '72/350, an '81/267, and a 1998 LS with the 3100, (which I still drive everyday). I have a real fondness for the Monte Carlo lettering behind the doors on my '98 and am thinking of adding them to the '06 SS. (I know that everybody wants to either de-badge, black-out, or totally eliminate the lettering/badges from their SS for whatever reason, so I guess I'm unique in my desire.) I found the OEM trunk lettering on Ebay. I also found some matching custom chrome numbers/letters that say "5.3 V8" from a web site chromeemblems.com. Not sure where to place them though. Any ideas? Opinions? I don't want the car to look too gaudy, or too barren. I do like the idea of the SS grille emblem...looks sharp. Think I'll keep the trunk bowtie, maybe get the black insert w/border for it. Anyway...let me know what you think.

 

If you do it I say put them in the same place they are on the 98 behind the door and get the smaller ones to put on the trunk??? How about the Z34 style black with red outline Bowtie for the trunk???? Not sure how keen I am on the 5.3 V8 badge though... probably have to see it.

Does seem like a good way to personalize your car and yet keep it looking somewhat OE. be sure to post some pics of whatever you do, people here are nuts for pics!

Thanks JAFO...I will definitely be posting pics as soon as she's ready. Wow! Love your '03...no badges or logos, but it looks sweet! Really clean lines. As for the 5.3 V8 logo, I really wanted to go with cid, but there is a lot of debate out there as to what a 5.3 is. Some say it's a 327, others a 325. (In reality, it works out to be a 323.4) I didn't want to open that can of worms, so I'll go with the 5.3 V8 instead. The OEM letters for behind the door are the same size as the trunk lettering...that's all that was available. Maybe the 5.3 V8 will fit there too. Gonna have to experiment a bit.

 

You need to get rid of the 5.3 V8 and do the LS4 emblem. You also can put the 5.3 in the emblem.

Ive been looking for the SS emblems on ebay for the front of the grill, and have found 2 different sizes, is it the 5" or the 4" that you guys have?
